Levodopa, Enalapril (also Prednisolone, Codeine) — pharmacologically inactive (or weakly active) compounds converted to their active form in vivo; used to improve absorption, target-tissue delivery, or reduce adverse effects compared to giving the active drug directly (e.g. levodopa crosses the blood-brain barrier whereas dopamine itself does not).
