Answer

Pancuronium is a non-depolarizing (competitive) neuromuscular blocker. It competitively blocks nicotinic (N-M) acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction motor end-plate, preventing acetylcholine from binding and triggering depolarization — resulting in flaccid skeletal muscle paralysis without initial fasciculations. Its action can be reversed by anticholinesterases (e.g., neostigmine), which increase acetylcholine levels to competitively overcome the block.
