Cotrimoxazole, Nitrofurantoin (also Ciprofloxacin) — reach high concentrations in urine and are effective against the common Gram-negative uropathogens (E. coli and others); nitrofurantoin is specifically restricted to lower UTI given inadequate tissue levels for pyelonephritis.
