Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes required for DNA supercoiling and replication. By blocking these enzymes, it prevents bacterial DNA synthesis, leading to bactericidal cell death.
