Question
Super ORS
Q101 marksShort Answers
Answer
Super ORS (reduced-osmolarity oral rehydration solution) is a modified WHO-ORS formulation with a lower concentration of glucose and sodium than the original ORS, which has been shown to reduce stool output, vomiting, and the need for IV fluids in acute diarrhoea, without an increased risk of hyponatraemia, while retaining equal efficacy in correcting dehydration.
