A Ghon focus is the primary parenchymal lung lesion of primary tuberculosis — a single, usually subpleural focus of caseous necrosis (1–1.5 cm), typically located in the lower part of the upper lobe or upper part of the lower lobe. Together with caseous necrosis in the draining hilar/mediastinal lymph nodes, it constitutes the “Ghon complex.”
