Diagnostic IHC makers of any four tumors
Answer
Diagnostic immunohistochemical (IHC) markers of four representative tumours:
- Breast carcinoma: ER (Estrogen Receptor), PR (Progesterone Receptor), and HER2/neu — used for diagnosis, prognosis, and to guide hormonal/targeted therapy; GATA3 as a lineage marker.
- Prostatic adenocarcinoma: PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) and PSAP (Prostatic Specific Acid Phosphatase); basal cell markers (p63, high molecular weight cytokeratin/CK5/6) are absent in malignant glands, helping distinguish carcinoma from benign glands (which retain a basal cell layer).
- Hodgkin lymphoma (classic type): CD15 and CD30 positive on Reed-Sternberg cells (CD45/CD20 typically negative).
- Ewing sarcoma/PNET: CD99 (MIC2) — strong, diffuse membranous positivity.
