Dengue haemorrhagic fever — caused by Dengue virus (Flaviviridae), transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes; characterized by thrombocytopenia and plasma leakage.
Ebola virus disease — caused by Ebola virus (Filoviridae), transmitted by contact with infected bodily fluids; among the most severe VHFs, with very high case-fatality rates.
