Answer
A Peutz-Jeghers polyp is a hamartomatous intestinal polyp characterized by a distinctive arborizing (branching) network of smooth muscle extending into the lamina propria, covered by normal intestinal epithelium; seen sporadically or as part of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (associated with mucocutaneous melanin pigmentation and increased risk of GI and extra-GI malignancies).
