- Adenocarcinoma (most common overall, especially in non-smokers)
- Squamous cell carcinoma
- Large cell carcinoma
Small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) — a distinct, highly aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma, strongly associated with smoking, treated differently (chemotherapy-based rather than primarily surgical) from NSCLC.
