Question

Fat soluble vitamins.

Q170.3 marksShort Answers

Answer

Vitamin A, Vitamin D (also E, K) — absorbed with dietary fat and stored in body fat/liver, so deficiency develops slowly but toxicity from excess intake is also possible (unlike water-soluble vitamins, which are readily excreted); malabsorption syndromes (fat malabsorption, biliary obstruction) impair their absorption.
