Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1 (MEN 1) is an autosomal dominant syndrome caused by mutation of the MEN1 tumour suppressor gene, classically causing the triad of tumours in the Parathyroid (primary hyperparathyroidism, most common feature), Pancreas (islet cell tumours — gastrinoma, insulinoma), and Pituitary (adenomas) — remembered as the “3 P’s.”
