ReviseMBBS (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a revision platform for MBBS students. This page explains what information the app accesses, why, and how it is handled — including data accessed through Google Sign-In.
What we collect
If you don’t sign in: ReviseMBBS stores your study progress, bookmarks, and notes locally in your browser. We do not collect or receive this information on any server.
If you sign in with Google: we receive, via Google Sign-In, your name, email address, and profile picture (the standard email and profile OAuth scopes). We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google data beyond this basic profile information.
Once signed in, the same study progress, bookmarks, and notes you’d otherwise keep locally are also synced to our database (hosted on Supabase) so they’re available across your devices.
How we use this data
- Your name and profile picture are shown back to you inside the app (e.g. “Signed in as…”) so you can confirm which account is active.
- Your email address identifies your account and lets us sync your data to the correct account.
- Your study progress, bookmarks, and notes are synced solely so you can access them from more than one device.
We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell or share it with third parties, and do not use it to train any AI or machine-learning models.
Who can access your data
Access to your synced data is restricted to your own account. Our database enforces row-level security so that no other user’s account can read or modify your data, and our own team does not access individual accounts’ study data except as required to fix a reported technical issue.
Data retention and deletion
Your synced data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you’d like your account and synced data deleted, email us at the address below and we will remove it. Data stored only in your browser (if you’ve never signed in) can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for revisembbs.in.
Third-party services
We use Google Sign-In (for authentication) and Supabase (for data storage). Both process data only as needed to provide their respective service to us, under their own privacy policies. We also use Plausible for privacy-respecting, non-personal analytics.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update this page and revise the date above.
